2010 MCC Bike-a-thon Coaldale
What is the purpose of these bike-a-thons?
We/You are raising funds to support Mennonite Central Committee. All funds raised at the bike-a-thon will be used to support MCC'S Generations program which works with partners in over 28 countries doing HIV/AIDS care, prevention, and education work. For more information about this, please visit aids.mcc.org or alberta.mcc.org to see what we do locally. MCC is a registered charity in Alberta. Our charity number is 107690844RR0001.
How do we register?
To register, you can:
- Go to the online registration form (click here)
- Print and mail the registration to MCC Alberta: registration form (or .doc)
How do we hope money will be raised?
We encourage you to get as many sponsors as possible to pledge your bike ride or walk. The sponsorship forms can be printed from here: Sponsorship Pledge Form (or .doc)Please fill in the amount that people are sponsoring you for, whether they are pledging an amount or have already paid, and then bring the form and funds to the Bike-a-thon on June 18th. The registration fee of $25 includes a lunch, BBQ supper and a t-shirt.
What is the Bike-a-thon Schedule?
Friday June 18

| 7:00 pm | Relief Sale Opening (more words from Abe and Cindy) |
What do I need to bring with me?
- Sponsor Form and all monies collected
- Release Form signed
- Alberta Health Care Card
- Hat, Sun Screen, Mosquito Repellant, Water, etc.

What are the routes, and when will they start?
- Short Route (11.5kms): 12:00 noon at Coaldale Sportsplex, goes north on a secondary Hwy 845 approximately 4 km from HWY 3 turn around. Go south on Hwy 845 to Coaldale Sportsplex (route is out and back).
- Medium Route (46kms): 12:00 noon at Coaldale Sportsplex, goes south on a secondary Hwy 845 to Wilson Siding, north on Hwy 4 to Lethbridge and finally east on Hwy 3 to Coaldale (route is a loop).
- Long Route (90kms): 12:00 noon at Coaldale Sportsplex, goes south on a secondary Hwy 845 to Raymond, then east on Hwy 52 to Stirling. From Stirling route goes north on Hwy 4 to Lethbridge; and finally east on Hwy 3 to Coaldale (route is a figure 8).
